Talks underway to trace abducted bus driver: Dy CM

IMPHAL, November 29: Manipur government seriously considers the abduction of a driver’s kidnapping for ransom at Nagaland said Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam.

He was speaking on the sideline of the function programme of a new church building at Chingmeirong Rongmei Baptist Fellowship, Rongmei Village Imphal.

Continuing on the issue, he said that regarding the reported abduction of night super driver Thoudam Rame from Viswema, Nagaland on November 27, the Manipur government has already contacted the Nagaland counterpart on the police level.

However, there is still no information on who all are behind the abduction. The government take the incident seriously and if the need arise will take up the issue on the state government level, he said.

The Dy CM also said that the centre has approved a regional passport office in the state.

The centre has already granted the approval and asked for the space of the passport office and FCI regional office.

Deputy Chief Minister said the next DPG of the state will be Shahid Ahamad IPS after the seniority list of MT cadres next to MK Das.

Ob being asked about the reported involvement of the police personnel in smuggling of illegal drugs, he said the government will not spare anyone found involved in such cases.

During the function, Gaikhangam said that he said that he had spent most of his childhood at Chingmeirong Rongmei.

The function was conduct under the theme of “My house shall be called a house of prayer for people” and it was Directed by the Rev. L Timothy Phaomei Pastor RNBACCI.
