Healthy baby show held at Khangabok
IMPHAL, November 10: The District Health Society Thoubal has today organized district level healthy baby show 2013 at District Hospital, Khangabok.
Deputy Commissioner of the district T Ranjit Singh attended as chief guest while Dr N Jayenta, member secretary of DHS presided over the function and Dr H Ranjit Singh, H Rishi, Kesh Sharma as guests of honour respectively.
During the function, T Ranjit Singh mentioned that the baby show competition is organized in connection with the Children Day which will be held on November 14 every year across the country.
He further said that the baby show is organized under National Rural Health Mission which has targeted to minimize the case of mother dead at child delivery adding that it also encourages making child delivery at hospital.
Manipur and Goa stood first among the states of the country on infant mortality rate, the DC further remarked adding that the baby show will give the message of proper parenting to the parents of the district.
The president of function Dr Jayenta expressed that the competition of the baby show will be selected by using certain rules.
He also mentioned the importance of timely vaccination of the children, breast feeding, child birth registration etc in the function adding that the Rashtriya Bal Suraksha Karakram scheme will be soon launched.
Altogether 45 children participated in three categories in the baby show and the selected children will take part in the state level children show to be held at Imphal.
