AMESTA to participate the 26th biennial conference

IMPHAL, November 9: A delegation of the All Manipur Elementary School Teacher’s Association (AMESTA) is going to participate at the 26th biennial conference which will be hosted from November 27 to 28 at Khanapara, Assam.

Speaking to media persons, Ch Santakumar Singh, general secretary-AMESTA, informed that the conference is sponsored by the All India Primary Teachers Federation (AIPTF), under the theme “Mobilizing for Quality Education for all”.

The delegation comprising of around 1000 members from across the state will be flagged off on November 25.

Other sub themes which are to be deliberated during the conference included teachers at the heart, standing up for the right to quality public education for all, the way forward for mobilizing for quality education for all, added Ch Santakumar Singh.

The AMESTA secretary, further informed that at the concluding day of the conference a national level campaign will be flagged off from Khanapara.

Elaborating on the objective of the campaign, the secretary said that it was to focus on raising awareness among central government and state government employees and public at large that quality public education for all is one of the fundamental pillars of a just and equal society. Moreover, it will also help to generate awareness among teachers about different provision of the RTE Act 2009; to generate awareness among all stakeholders that the provision of high quality of education is essential to achieve quality education for all; to generate awareness among parents and guardian and community members about the need and importance of quality education.
