Mizo organisations support Kuki state in Manipur

Aizawl , February 8, 2013(mizonews.net): Demand for Kuki state in Manipur have gained support from various organisation in Mizoram.

At a consultative meeting held among Kuki State Demand Committee, Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhwm Pawl (MHIP), women organisation in Mizoram, Mizo Students’ Union (MSU), Mizoram Upa Pawl (MUP), elder’s association of Mizoram and Mizo Chief, the members presented have voiced concerned over the demand of Kuki state in Manipur.

As part of introduction, delagates from KSDC apprised the members of the problems faced by them and their rightful demand of statehood in Manipur.

The meeting which was held under the aegis of Zo Reunification Organisation (ZORO) in Aizawl on Wednesday had also raised their concerned over the indifferent attitude of the government of Manipur towards development of Kuki and agreed to put up in the UN Human Rights Council.

The meeting also resolved to pressurize the Government of India and Govt. of Manipur for political solution of the Kuki problems before any political statement is given to Naga or NSCA in the present administrative Area of Manipur State.
