Two Day International Seminar on Bridges Concludes

New Delhi, Nov 4: The two day International seminar on “Pre Engineered and Quick Launch Bridges” culminated today that is on November 4th, 2012 as a successful event with representatives from Govt. Organizations namely Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Ministry of Railways, CPWD, DRDO, NIDM, Corps of Engineers and Border Roads Organisation (BRO), industry, (consultants and Private Firms) and international delegates having presented their papers on various facets. The seminar was inaugurated by Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Dr. C P Joshi yesterday that is on November 3rd, 2012.

The two day seminar was to bring out the existing technologies and explore options available to be adopted for existing Indian conditions. The ideas and concept discussed in this seminar will be compiled and submitted to various ministries to be considered during policy planning and inclusion into respective codes.

Day 1 went into Technical discussion, analysis, design, fabrication of Pre engineered steel bridges and Pre engineered concrete and composite bridges. Day 2 saw brainstorming and mind tickling discussions on Quick Launch Bridges in use and under development and currently available in International market, launching system for pre engineered bridges and flyovers and quality of materials their availability, aesthetics and on safety aspects.
