NAB detects drugs worth four lakh


IMPHAL, November 24: A suspicious parcel sent from Delhi, which was received by Lamphel post office turns out to be banned drugs, Triprolidine HCI and Pseudoephedrine HCI contained tablets ACTIMAN, worth around four lakh in grey market.  

The sized tablets, approximately 12,000 strips, were displayed before media persons at NAB office today.

Speaking to media persons, OC NAB Inspector RK Bikramjit said that after receiving specific information, the parcel was seized by Narcotic Affair and Border officials since yesterday, and after seeking permission from the district magistrate, the parcel was opened today and found banned drugs, Triprolidine HCI and Pseudoephedrine HCI contained tablets ACTIMAN, worth around four lakh in grey market inside the parcel box.

He further said that the officials have also found out that the parcel was send from a general post office in New Delhi on November 7 and it reached Lamphel Post Office yesterday.

The parcel is addressed to one Dr Wingson Analad from fishery Gate, Sanakeithel and it was sent by one Shyam Bhai of Nai Sarak, New Delhi. But Dr Wingon could not be found in the mentioned address, he said.

NAB has filed a case in regard with the incident.
