Mobilisation training for SMC begins

IMPHAL, November 2: A “three day community mobilisation training on Right to Education, Surva Shiksha Abhiyan, Education for all” for school management committee (SMC) members of Sawombung Block for the year 2012-13 begins today at Sangeet Kala Sangam, Khurai Lamlong Bazaar.

The training programme is being organized by the office of the District Project Officer, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Imphal East district.

The inauguration function today was attended by N Ashokumar, IAS, State Project Director, SSA/SMA, Manipur, H Mema Devi, ZEO/District Project Officer, SSA, Imphal East District and S Thoiba Singh, District Inspector, ZEO Zone-II as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Addressing the function as chief guest, N Ashokumar expressed the need to work together to bring better education system in the state. He also invited for suggested from SMC if there is any to help improve the education system.

He further said that there is a need to change the mindset of the people that government run schools are not good and added that every school has its own uniqueness to produce good students.

He appealed to SMC members and Headmasters for co-operate in fulfilling the purpose in building the students into a productive member of the society.
