A Preview : Imphal Metal Convention 2 (IMC II)

by Lukhendro Keisham

After the grand success of the first Imphal Metal Convention the organizers are back with its second edition. This time the event will feature a Danish metal act Dawn of Demise who is on their first Indian tour. Alongside DOD the IMC2 will also feature Post Mark, Sandrembee, DEAD Mobster, The Wishess, Chem Weed F.M, 16th Revolver, Idyllics, Lost and Found, The 3Strings and Yuthak Wah from the local stages.

With the festive season already started the event is marked as the first rock fest of this year's concert season. Speaking to the organizer the event is an approach to promote the local artist as well as to help them share the experiences with international acts. Not only that it's an event for the rock artist of the region but for the fans in the North -East region of India who has the greatest number of rock music fans and artist in the counrty.

Eroz Laishram and Rajiv Nongmeikapam from The Greens told that they have made the passes of the event at the least and affordable for all types of fans to join in and share the same spirit of the concert. A limited number of special passes are also sold which includes a complimentary snacks and backstage passes for publicity stunts.

In a statement from the organizers Sycorax, the band from Darjeeling won't be able to make it to the event due to decease in the families of the band. The organizer do considered for a replacement of the band but failed due to the very limited notice of the unfortunate. The efforts of the management were worth appreciating. Apart from this hiccup everything is well as planned and the Imphal Metal Conventionis all set to be brutal again on the 18th of Oct. at YAC Range Ground, Imphal.

The ground works has already been started since the 16th of Oct. and all the out-stationed bands had arrived in Imphal for the big day. In a development the headlining act of the event Dawn of Demisehave landed in Mumbai (17th Oct.) and will be heading for Imphal soon. Gossips poured in that the bands in the IMC2 are busy doing their last minute jam sessions in their sound labs.

As a part of its initiatives Rock Music Manipur will be doing an online streaming of the entire concert for the fans around the world. The event will start sharp at 1100 hour is a strict acknowledgement from the management. Rain or less packed the show must to go on. Be on time so that you don't miss out your supporting bands.
