Foundation day observed

IMPHAL, October 24: The All Manipur Women’s Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) observed its 23rd foundation day today at the Manipur Press Club.

The function was attended by Department of Political Science, Manipur University Prof Ksh Bimola, president, Poirei Leimarol Apunba Meira Paibi, Manipur L Memchoubi, president, All Manipur Women’s Voluntary Association, Y Kunjarani as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.

The function was also attended by Dr Dhanabir Laishram, Social Scientist, Dr Priyadarsini M Gangte, lecturer, Damdei Christian College, Motbung and H Manbi, advisor, AMAWOVA as special invitees.

Addressing the function as chief guest, Ksh Bimola said the changes which are brought into the state needs to be looked from a critical point of view in order to save the Manipuri society.

She appealed to all the communities residing in the state to work together in facing such issues.

She further said that the issue faced by women in the state also need to be discussed properly.

The role played by women is very important in making a society productive, she added.
