Dev Photos Strikes Chord with Bishnupur Residents

Bishnupur, Oct 16: In a move to disseminate information
about the various spectrum of
centrally-sponsored schemes in all parts of the states, a five-day long
photo exhibition on the theme ‘Bharat Nirman’ was set into motion Tuesday at
Kiyamba Ningshing Shanglen (Bishnupur Town Hall) in Bishnupur district
headquarters. The exhibition which would continue till October 20 is being
organized by the Field Exhibition Office, Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP),
Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal in
collaboration with Bishnupur Municipal Council (BMC).
Inaugurating the campaign, Laishram Lolindro ,
Chairperson, Bishnupur Municipal Council lauded the Government of India for
launching various projects for the welfare of the public. The photos were a
testimony of what have been done by the central government, he said and added
that the Bishnupur Municial Council is implementing some of the
centally-sponsored schemes with success in its jurisdiction. The chairperson
also praised DAVP, Imphal for bringing photo exhibition program in Bishnupur with
the aims of creating mass awareness about the programs & policies of the
Government.
‘Its an eye-opener for me’ said Maisnam Bimola ,
Vice-Chairperson, BMC, who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. She also informed
that she would ask students and public to visit the exhibition hall to take
benefit of the opportunity. S Tomba Singh, Ex-Cjairperson, BMC, who made his
presence felt as Functional President outlined that the flagship programs of
the Government is to bring equal development for all the people of India .
Putting forward the aim of the exhibition, Dr Gin Gangte,
IIS, Field Exhibition Officer, DAVP, Imphal spelled out some of the important
schemes such as MGNGERS, NRHM, SSA, PMGSY, Rural Connectivity, Rajiv Gandhi
Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojana, JNURM, etc and calls for sincere, transparent and
honest implementation of Government schemes for maximum benefit of the targeted
beneficiaries. The IIS officer also highlighted that DAVP, Imphal organized
series of mass awareness campaign through photo exhibition during the past two
months at Mayang
Imphal , Wangoi, Lilong and
Lamsang. ‘Photos have a lasting impression’ said Dr Gin Gangte whilst extending invitation to the
public to take opportunity of the campaign.
Earlier, N Sanaojaba Singh, Executive Officer, BMC talked on
the topic of flagship programs initiated by the Government of India. The
Executive Officer also enlightened the gathering by informing that BMC is
implementing Water Supply Schemes under UDISSMT (JNURM) and Housing Schemes
under IHSDP (JNURM) with satisfaction. ‘These photos reflects what the
Government is doing for her people’ said Sanajaoba and added that the exhibition
is ‘very informative to the public as well as student of the area as the
photographs shown in the exhibition shows what the Government of India is
taking up for the welfare of the people’.
The five-day photo exhibition with a collection of 138 photographs
including 15 eye-catching photos from Bishnupur Municipal Council will
definitely helped the public in understanding about the initiatives being
undertaken by the Government of India for the welfare of the people.
