7th edition of Nungsibi Greece

IMPHAL, Aug 6: The seventh edition of the ‘Nungshibi Greece” written by Saratchand Thiyam was released during the 10th anniversary of the publication of the travelogue today at the Manipur Press Club.

Tagore Literature Awardee, Nongthombam Kunjamohan who attended as the president of the function also released the 7th edition.

Meanwhile, in his key-note address, the author said the first edition of the book was released on August 6, 2002.

He continued that he has been fortunate enough that his book is well accepted by the readers and that he had to produced the 7th edition of the travelogue on its 10th anniversary.

The travelogue is a recipient of the Sahitya Award.

He further elaborated that the book is part of the Assam University curriculum.

He said the present young generation seems to be less interested in literature which is not a good sign. We should encourage our youngsters to take up literature, he said.
