State BJP condemns Punjab MLA’s remarks on stray dog
IMPHAL, June 30: The North East India Sampark Cell, NEISC and BJP, Manipur Pradesh has strongly condemned the reported derogatory and uncalled for remarks made by Congress MLA from Punjab Ajit Singh Mofar about sending stray dogs to the North East.
A statement of the state BJP said, “His remarks are insulting to people living in the region. This is a generalised comment stemmed out of ignorance. He should exercise more restrain while making such comments as he is an elected representative”. When extra efforts are being made to take care of the region such comments defeat the very purpose of improving emotional bonding.
“What is more objectionable is he has made mention of Nagaland, Mizoram and China in same vein”.
“We call for an unconditional apology from Ajit Singh Mofar. Even his own party has advised him to stick to skating. If he slips while skating he may heart himself but if his tongue slips like this many people may get hurt”, the statement said.
