Bomb attack at Transport Officer’s building wounds one

IMPHAL, July 4: A non-local construction worker identified as Ramdev, 35 of Bihar was injured during a grenade explosion at Deulahland around 11:30am this morning.

The injured is from Bihar and presently staying at Mantripukhri. He was admitted at the Raj Polyclinic for treatment.

Unidentified persons today lobbed a hand grenade at the under construction residence of Thoubal District Transport Officer, Simon Keishing, 55 son of (L) Masangthei.

Meanwhile according to the Newmai News Network, Nganingmei Keishing, son of Simon Keishing,said that Wednesday’s incident was “unfortunate” as the blast wounded an innocent labourer and caused unnecessary panic to the surrounding residents.

Asked about any monetary demand served to the family, Keishing ruled out such demand from any militant organization. He also insisted that the real motive behind the bomb attack is yet to be ascertained, the news agency added.
