Air India staff molests two North East women in hotel
New Delhi: In yet another shocker from the national capital that raises doubts on the doubts of women safety, two women from the North East were allegedly molested by an Air India crew member in a five-star hotel.
According to reports, the molestation, according to police, took place at the lobby of upscale Hotel Ashoka in the Chankyapur on the morning of July 5.
Victims along with their friends had come for dinner in the hotel. After having dinner, the girls were in the lobby, where they were allegedly molested and assaulted by the accused, identified as Paramjeet Singh. A senior police officer said that the incident was reported around 4.20 am.
The 26-year-old native of Palwal in Faridawad, Parmajeet was living in the hotel since July 3 and was in and was alleged to be in an inebriated state at the time of incident.
On raising the alarm, the hotel staff rushed to the aid of the girls. The police took the victims to a nearby hospital for the medical examination.
On the basis of the complaint made by the victims, Paramjeet was booked under Sections 323 (hurt) and 354 (assault with intent to outrage modesty) of the Indian Penal Code at the Chankyapuri Police Station. Singh was later released on bail.
This is not an isolated case as several other incidents have been reported in the city, turning to be a rape captial. Earlier, on 18 May, an Australian player of IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore player was arrested for allegedly molesting a US national and severely beating up her fiancée.
