Manipur defends Champion title in 3rd National Vovinam Championship

Imphal, June 28: Manipur Vovinam team earned their hat-trick title int the 3rd National Vovinam Martial Art Championship which was going on from 20th June 2012 At Guru Gobind Singh Ji Stadium, Nanded, Maharashtra and concluded on Wednesday by the IRS Officer – Shri Kalicharan S. Khartade on this occasion the Association National President Master Dr. Vishnu Sahai & General Secretary Praveen Garg also graced the occasion.

610 Players from different 21 States have performed there skills in different Sub – Junior, Junior, Senior, 54 Fighting Groups & 26 Performance Groups.

Manipur Team once again triumph & made the hattrick in Vovinam National’s by Bagging 46 Gold, 5 Silver & 1 Bronze while the host team Maharashtra stood 2nd by 10 Gold, 15 Silver & 42 Bronze Medals and the previous year runner – up Puducherry Team have to sacrifice for 3rd Position by 6 Gold, 13 Silver & 7 Bronze Medals.

Praveen Garg , General Secretary Vovinam Association Of India has also informed that during the National Championship Association has also selected the best players for the Indian Vovinam Team which will take part in the coming Asian Vovinam Championship which is going to be held at Kish Island, Iran from 18th – 23rd October 2012.
